Spring is one of my favorite seasons of the year, as it symbolizes fresh beginnings. I always dedicate those first few weekends of spring to making my home feel light, bright, and organized. I let my garden sleep in, but prepare my own habitat for a great year ahead. And at the end of my cleaning spree, there’s a sense of accomplishment in bringing everything back to life after months of hibernation.

An annual tradition for me after clean out is to assess everything I’m giving away and try to make that process as sustainable as possible. It’s a time for me to review everything I’ve accumulated and ask myself how it’s serving me now. I try to reduce, reuse, and re-gift anything that is no longer working for me or my family. I also take time to maintain what I do want to keep around, to extend it’s life.

To help me with this year’s spring cleaning, I’ll be attending Northbrooks 2025 Spring Clean Up Day to safely dispose of anything that no longer has a place in my home. Check out the event if you also are ready to have a fresh spring beginning of your own.
