Plastic Waste Reduction in the Village
We could use help contacting businesses, schools and restaurants about plastic waste reduction. We are encouraging orthodontists to Terracycle and restaurants to only serve straws upon request. Please contact us at info@gogreennorthbrook.org if you’d like to volunteer.

Do you have a green-minded project or idea that you would like to see implemented in Northbrook? Attend one of our ECO Meetings (first Tuesday of the month at 7pm) to present your initiative to fellow citizens. Long- and short-term teams are formed around ideas brought forth from people like you! Go Green Northbrook will assist with connections to resources, and can help with public relations, funding and more.
GGN Steering Committee Members/Board Members
TIMEFRAME: On-going; Board positions are elected in September of each year
We want to grow our group but we can’t do it without your help! Consider volunteering to help us develop and evolve, and make long-term plans. The Steering Committee meets monthly the third Tuesday of the month 9:00–11:00 am. If you work and need evening meetings, let us know. We can alternate times.
Once established as a contributing core member on the Steering Committee, consider running for an elected Board position. The Board meets 1–2 times per year to address official 501(c)(3) requirements, and makes all financial decisions. Positions are for two years with half the seats opening each year. We’re looking to grow from our current 4 members.
