Dear Northbrook Neighbors,
Go Green Northbrook has ended participation in most TerraCycle programs except for the snack food wrapper program. The Village Hall will continue to collect snack food wrappers in standalone boxes for shipping. The following TerraCycle programs have ended: beauty products, oral care items, and art supplies. We will no longer accept items from discontinued programs at the Northbrook Village Hall or Train Station, but you can search active drop-off sites and programs via https://www.terracycle.com/en-US/brigades. The local Northbrook Y, REI Northbrook (snack wrappers only), and Northbrook Public Library also collect some TerraCycle materials.
Ending some of our TerraCycle collection programs was a difficult decision for us to make. Maintaining and managing the collection of community waste required more volunteer resources than we have at this time. We thank all of you that donated hard to recycle materials. We hope that you will consider participating in future Go Green Northbrook recycling and waste reduction programs.
