FOREST THERAPY WALK

Location: Ryerson Woods, Brushwood Center Parking Lot

Instructor: Terry Cichocki, Certified Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, Village of Northbrook Forester

Dates:  Saturday, May 4, 2019 9am -11am

Limited to 15 people

Donation per walk: $20  These events are being held to bring people into the forest and also to help Go Green Northbrook continue the work in bringing more natural connections with the community.

Note: Held entirely outdoors, rain or shine. Wear comfortable clothing and walking shoes or boots.  If the weather is cold, dressing in warm layers is recommended.    If weather forecast has inclement weather such as sub-zero temperatures, snowstorm,  we will notify you the evening prior to the walk about cancellation and re-schedule date.

Supplies:A hat, sunglasses (if needed), gloves and multiple layers.  Optional supplies to bring if you wish include a sketchbook/journal or hand warmers, if needed.Please–no cell phone or electronics use during the walk.

Recommended ages:  Adults, ages 18 and over

Forest Therapy  Forest Therapy is inspired by the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku, a researched-based healing and wellness support.  Studies have demonstrated health benefits, especially in the cardiovascular and immune systems, and for stabilizing and improving mood and cognition.
